Rovio Entertainment - "Angry Birds" and "Angry Birds Space" - will be available for Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 OS when it ships on October 26 this year. Besides, the company announced the first wave of Xbox games for its highly-awaited Windows 8 OS.
The fruit-slicing game "Fruit Ninja" from Halfbrick Studios is another popular game that will be available at the time of the Windows 8 release.
Microsoft announced 40 games, out of which 29 games are from Microsoft Studios. Some of the games also work on the Xbox console. "Xbox is also announcing support from Rovio, Miniclip, Gameloft, ZeptoLab, Glu Mobile, Halfbrick Studios who are also bringing Xbox games to Windows 8 in this first wave," said Microsoft in a Windows Team blog post.
The games will be available through the Games app that comes with Windows 8 and through the Windows Store, said Microsoft.
The company did not say if the games would work on Windows RT OS, which is designed for tablets and PCs that run on ARM-based chips.
