Google cancels Android event on October 29

Google has cancelled its much talked-about Android event, scheduled for October 29 in New York City, due to Hurricane Sandy. In an email sent to media organisations, Google gave a crisp explanation and said, "We are cancelling our Monday morning event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy. We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more."
According to The Verge, "On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency in response to the incoming storm, and Google's event was set to take place on a waterfront pier, which is now in an evacuation zone."
However, it is not yet known that when this event will take place now, but "the company has confirmed that it's postponing the event to an as yet undetermined point in the future," reported Engadget. Google was highly expected to co-host the event with LG where it was likely to introduce the next version of Android – version 4.2, rumoured to be named Key Lime Pie, along with a new Nexus phone.
