Change your default Timeline to Most Recent on Facebook

Tired of setting and resetting the Most Recent option? Try this quick fix so you won't have to do it again.

Facebook has made a lot of changes over the past couple of years. We've seen new features get added, while others died off. We've seen new games get added and take over most of our Timelines. And we've also seen Facebook pick settings for us that we can't seem to change by default because the options just aren't there.

    Well, enough of that.
If you're like me, you find keeping track of family and friends on Facebook much easier when the posts are in chronological order. Facebook obviously disagrees because at some point after closing my browser tab the Web site keeps defaulting back to "Top Stories." It's also totally unreliable -- sometimes it changes back, sometimes it doesn't; and that is very annoying.
To combat this issue, I've decided to use a very simple method of always looking at "Most Recent": I changed my bookmark from Facebook.com to http://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr That's right, this link will always load your Timeline in chronological order.
There are, of course, Web browser add-ons/extensions that can do this for you. Who knows, in the future, that link might become defunct, so it's good to keep these other methods in mind!

If you're using Google Chrome, check out Facebook Most Recent Default. Installing this extension is probably more work than just changing your bookmark, but it's still an option. And if you're using Firefox, the add-on is called Facebook "Most recent" by default.
